After our introductory lesson, Kelly produced a script based on our ideas. we thought having a dark and light side to each character was a good idea, so to also showcase the work of Film and TV the idea was to have lots of screens up around the performance and there be a glitch where the dark side of the characters are shown. Kelly used these to develop the idea of the glitch. We read this through as a group and were very happy with the outcome. Not only does it show off what we can do but it also is in favour of Film and TV and the Makeup students. After reading through the script I was really looking forward to getting the piece on it's feet. We started blocking it through with Tom and our idea was to have all of the circus acts at the back of the stage in a line with the ring Mistress in the middle of the line then there will be children sat on hay bails at the sides of the stage explaining what they love about the circus. Every time there was a monologue about each different act the children would come to the middle and lift a rainbow parachute for the acts to run under and parade around the stage like in a circus. There would then be two words said by each act when the glitch would occur and show the dark side of them. Obviously, the script is still a work in progress and e still have lots of ideas that we need to ull off before the launch.
