As part of connections with the National Theatre this year we performed a play named 'Like there's no tomorrow'. The play is about how the Earth is changing and how humankind are ruining mother nature. Due to coronavirus we couldn't perform the play in a theatre so we teamed up with film and tv in order to send a version of us performing it to the National. It has been quite a long process when it comes to like there's no tomorrow. The show had a very quick turn around.
I was given the role of the nosy neighbour in this play along with Sophie. I will include a few photos of rehearsals.
I feel as though the casting for this play was bang on and everyone got the roles they deserved. Despite having a smaller part I was happy because we started this play whilst a lot of us were still auditioning for drama schools and sending off self tapes and what not. I think Kelly was mindful of this and gave out roles accordingly. This was also our first time properly working with the first years so that too was pretty interesting as we'd never had a chance to bond so it was nice to make a couple of friendships too. We did have a lot of work to do but we under went lots of rehearsals to perfect certain scenes. We left the scenes with all of us in until last mostly so we had time to rehearse. My favourite scenes to watch from Like There's no Tomorrow were the scenes with Maru and her family in them as I feel as though the actors had good chemistry in them and its evident whilst watching. Kelly gave me the opportunity to direct a scene for the play as well which I was very excited about. I directed the dram sequence in which Maru's book comes to life. This was my favourite part of the process when it came to Like there's no Tomorrow as I felt really inspired and creative.
I feel as though now all you need to do is watch the film without me explaining too much so you can see for yourself, so without further ado enjoy 'Like There's No Tomorrow!
